What if a single slice of pizza could be the spark of kindness, connection, and hope for someone facing tough times? What if a single slice of pizza could be the spark of kindness, connection, and hope for someone facing tough times?

At Dreams of Kindness, we believe it can. That’s why we launched Share the Slice, a community-driven pizza donation program designed to feed those in need while building stronger, more connected communities. In this blog, we’ll dive into how the program works, the mission behind it, and the communities we serve and how YOU can get involved.

You can be part of this mission too! Sponsor a slice today and help us spread kindness, one slice at a time.

What Is the Share the Slice Program?

Share the Slice is a simple yet impactful initiative that brings hot, fresh pizza to neighborhoods, shelters, parks, and any place where people are struggling. We partner with local pizzerias and volunteers to create pop-up donation events that make a tangible difference in the lives of people experiencing food insecurity.

This isn’t just about feeding someone, it’s about offering comfort and hope, and creating lasting connections in our communities. Since its launch, Share the Slice has delivered hundreds of pizzas in cities like Santa Ana, Long Beach, and Jurupa Valley, and we’re just getting started.

Why Pizza?

Why did we choose pizza as the meal of choice for our community outreach?
It’s simple:

  • It’s shareable and easy to distribute

  • It’s familiar, comforting, and loved by almost everyone

  • It creates a moment of connection, even among strangers

Preparing for kindness , picking up pizzas from a local shop before heading to a Share the Slice event.

A warm slice isn’t just food , it’s a gesture that says, "You matter."

There’s something about receiving pizza that feels like a gift, not a handout. And that feeling, that moment, is what Share the Slice is all about.

Where We Operate (and Where We’re Going)

Though we’re based in Southern California, we’re officially registered in California, Arizona, and Wyoming. That gives us the flexibility to grow, scale, and serve more communities as our network expands.

Current Locations:

  • Santa Ana, CA

  • Long Beach, CA

  • Jurupa Valley, CA

  • Pop-up events in Phoenix, AZ (coming soon)

  • Wyoming ,open for future outreach

We are also open to expanding into any state where there's a need and a willing partner. If you're in another region and want to collaborate, we're ready to bring Share the Slice to your community.

Our goal is to establish pizza partners and volunteer chapters in cities across California, Arizona, Wyoming, and beyond. As we build capacity, we plan to add more regular events and possibly expand into Nevada and other nearby states in the future.

Every Slice Has a Story

During one of our earliest pop-ups in Santa Ana, a man named Carlos accepted a slice and said, "This is the first thing I’ve eaten in two days. Thank you for remembering us."

Another day, a woman and her two children smiled as they shared slices at the park. She told us she hadn’t known how she was going to feed her kids that day , and the pizza meant everything. It reminded us that even small moments can bring warmth to a family or individual.

These aren’t just meals. They’re memories of connection, reminders that someone cares.

We document these stories not just for inspiration, but because we want our supporters to know the real impact of their help.

Quick Stats: Why This Matters

  • Millions of people in the U.S. experience food insecurity or moments without access to a warm meal

  • Communities thrive when kindness, nourishment, and presence come together

  • Pizza is one of the most affordable and scalable ways to provide warm food fast

Programs like Share the Slice offer a grassroots solution that brings joy, connection, and nourishment directly to the community.

Our program has already delivered hundreds of pizzas across cities like Santa Ana, Long Beach, and Jurupa Valley, but we need your help to reach more people in need.

Your support is crucial to continue making these moments of connection happen. Whether it’s sponsoring a slice or helping to fund our next pop-up event, there’s always a way to give back.

Join the movement and be part of something bigger by helping us deliver food and build community where it’s needed most.
